Remain Calm – Compressed+ is an installation developed from the series Remain Calm (2019–2023)︎︎︎. A scaled scenographic installation, its compressed, futuristic landscape is programmed with simulations of various catastrophes — earthquakes, floods, fires, technical errors, and meteorite impacts.
The installation imagines an institution in a state of emergency, presenting miniature models of the venues where versions of Remain Calm have been performed as a simulative set on which disasters unfold. It examines the kinds of solidarity that emerge in crisis, and the formation of relationships and forms of existence in a world where disaster prevention is widespread. Through an animistic engine that drives machines, lifeforms, objects, and environments, the work explores a worlding language for the world we co-exist within.
